Collection, 1964-1993, of correspondence about the Gallery and its exhibitions, and scrapbooks of numerous exhibitions at the Gallery. Scrapbooks include photographs, drawings, programs, and newspaper articles about the exhibits and artists. Correspondence about exhibits usually discussed when, where, and what would be exhibited. Miscellaneous materials include an inventory of equipment of the Gallery, 1964-1965; Program Board correspondence, 1964-1965, about the Gallery's programs; material related to a minigrant that the Gallery received, 1973-1974; and an inventory of the Gallery's art, 1980-1982.

Maybee was a history professor at CMU. The Clarke Historical Library has several of his publications and his papers. The Advisory Committee developed plans for major events, publications, re-dedications of campus buildings, presentations, and a historical marker for CMU's 75th Anniversary. The Gallery existed 1964-May 1993, when it was discontinued by the University. It's purpose was to house traveling exhibits of art from the U.S. and abroad, and to display the art of Central Michigan University students and various Mount Pleasant and Michigan artists.
